My love for this region is rooted in generations of family history. My grandmother was born in Freeland on Whidbey Island, and my great-grandmother was born on Camano Island. My own island memories began in Deer Harbor, followed by more than 40 years of boating, sailing, and exploring the San Juan Islands. Roche Harbor remains a particular favorite.

We recently purchased a house on Guemes Island with the help of Karen. She was always responsive and kept us posted throughout the buying process. Her local knowledge of the area made us very comfortable. Also, she helped us after the purchase by putting us in touch with other local professionals to help us complete a project at our place. Karen was great in all things San Juan island area real estate. She knows the islands, knows the other brokers, and knows the ins and outs (eg how to get to another island that isn’t serviced by a WSDOT ferry, area/local experts to help with land feasibility studies). She worked with me for a year and a half, helped submit bids, dug up as much extra info on the HOAs and tiny communities needed to get a better picture of each possible bid/offer/acquisition. She lives in the islands and knows them well. Never felt like was being lied to or falsely appeased. Would use again as both a buyer and seller.
Karen was very responsive to my questions. She determined other factors that were important to the seller besides price and included those in the offer. Karen represented my interests and I never felt any pressure from her to buy a particular property. Excellent service!
